The Future Historical Writer!
Discovery! Answering questions with no apparent answers. Learning un-discovered facts that helped clarify historical records. Un-locking untrue versions of past events, helping find their truths.
My early employment was as a printer in an off-set establishment in Connecticut named “Rainbows”. Described as a trade-shop, not doing actual printing but producing quality printing plates to the trade.
My skill in the off-set printing process was called “stripping”, the act of composing page layouts for various publications. Exposure to original art works by Degas, Renoir, Charles Russell, Frederick Remington, Currier & Ives, early maritime ship painters, and many others, generated a curiosity and desire to learn about the world and my own surroundings.
Knowledge of printing requirements qualified me to produce books thru the entire creative process, from lay-out to composition to assembling a finished product. When asked by people what kind of work I did, I delighted in answering; “I am a stripper working at the Rainbows.”

A growing hobby of collecting antiques, books, bottles, stoneware and more general information follows me to this day, which I have pursued with unflinching enjoyment. Any downtime was filled with the consumption of and total appreciation for fine wine and food!
Those memories are sequestered in various mental compartments, not yet overflowing or overcrowded, waiting for another story to take up residence.

NEW BOOK

The Ames Foundry and their Bronze Sculptures
History of the Ames Manufacturing Co., of Chicopee, Massachusetts and the Enduring Artistic Bronze Sculptures Created by Masters
“David Graci’s book vividly tells the chaotic story of the company’s Post-War history, well written and carefully researched, the images of 19th century America come to life in nearly two hundred pictures, with a very useful index. He has created a fascinating bit of pubic history.”
